  • My Phrase for the day!

Just to let you know I didn't come up with this but I loved the phrase!

"A womans heart should be so lost in God that for a man find it he would have to search
                                                 thoroughly through God!"

  • My Baptism in Monterrey, Mexico

    Hey Everyone!!
Sorry I have not kept up my blogging. I have been very busy with school this year!
Lots of new thing have been happening in my life recently. On July 20th I went on a week long mission trip with my youth group at Oak Hills, to Monterrey, Mexico. While I was there I got baptized. It was really neat. I got baptized in a beautiful pool of water up in the mountains right outside the city of Monterrey. Here's the story...

We had 9 teams of 10 people going to Mexico. There were 3 leaders in every team and every team has its own church they work with Monday-Thursday. Friday we go to a retreat center right outside of the city. There we put together skits of  how God used us that week serving in our churches. Then we would present them to the whole group. We also had free time to play games and sports or just sleep.   On Saturday you could go hiking or stay and play Ultimate Frisbee. I stayed to play Frisbee and one of my best friend, Ashley, went on the hiking trip. When they got back she told me that she and another girl got baptized in a pool of water up on the trail. She showed me pictures and that night I told her that I've never gotten baptized and if I had known I would have gotten baptized too. One of our leaders, Cherie, heard me say that and said that we could ask Dan, who in the youth leader, if he could baptize me in the morning before we head home to San Antonio. So we asked him and he said we could but it would have to be early. So Sunday at 8:30am, July 27th 2008 I got baptized in the coldest water ever! The air was at least in the 60s. burr.... Then I took a quick shower and got in the van and headed home. Mom and dad were shocked but happy when I told them. God has been so good and faithful to me!! Well, here are some pictures! Enjoy!   ~Go-forth in Christ! ~Grace

    Breakfast right before my baptism.

This is what it looked like around the pool of water.

Dan talking about baptism, and what it means.

Me getting in the freezing water! I did know it was 7ft deep so when I got in I went all the way under so I was completely wet before I got baptized.

I will never forget it! God is good.

  • Is Christ showing in your life?

I am doing a Bible study on Colossions. It really made me think. Here are some questions they asked. Read them and see if Christ is showing though you.

    1. My friends know I'm a Christian, because I talk about Christ in many of our canversations.
                      True__ False__
    2. I share prayer requests with my friends.
                      True__ False__
    3. Even people who don't know me personally would suspect I'm a Christian because of the way I act.
                       True__ False__
    4. If a stranger eavesdropped on most of my conversations, she/he would guess I'm a Christian because of what I talk about.   True__ False__
    5. One of my favorite things to talk about with others is my relationship with God.
                       Ture__ False__
How did you do? Is Christ showing though your life? Is it obvious to others that you're in love with Jesus?"
This is really inportant! I know it's hard. When I did this I didn't like the 5th one. I was thinking everyone will think I am the Jesus freak. But who cares if your a Jesus freak, that is the most important thing in the whole world! Guys don't be shy about the Lord. Live out Loud. Be strong. Don't LET Satan pull you down.

    Your sister in Christ,

     ~Grace

  • My Favorit Poem! The Cookie Thief!

      The Cookie Thief
          by Valerie Cox

A woman was waiting at an airport one night,
With several long hours before her flight.
She hunted for a book in the airport shops.
Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

She was engrossed in her book but happened to see,
That the man sitting beside her, as bold as could be.
Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag in between,
Which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene.

So she munched the cookies and watched the clock,
As the gutsy cookie thief diminished her stock.
She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by,
Thinking, "If I wasn't so nice, I would blacken his eye."

With each cookie she took, he took one too,
When only one was left, she wondered what he would do.
With a smile on his face, and a nervous laugh,
He took the last cookie and broke it in half.

He offered her half, as he ate the other,
She snatched it from him and thought... oooh, brother.
This guy has some nerve and he's also rude,
Why he didn't even show any gratitude!

She had never known when she had been so galled,
And sighed with relief when her flight was called.
She gathered her belongings and headed to the gate,
Refusing to look back at the thieving ingrate.

She boarded the plane, and sank in her seat,
Then she sought her book, which was almost complete.
As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise,
There was her bag of cookies, in front of her eyes.

If mine are here, she moaned in despair,
The others were his, and he tried to share.
Too late to apologize, she realized with grief,
That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief.

How many times in our lives,
    have we absolutely known
that something was a certain way,
    only to discover later that
what we believed to be true ... was not? ~Gracie

  • Richard is Growing to Fast!

Hello everyone! Today Richard was up at our house eating lunch with us. After we were all done and everyone was gone from the table, except for me, Richard asked me "Why are bad guys bad?"  A little shocked at the question, I answered, "I guess its because they don't know the Lord, and get greedy." "But why do they shoot good guys?" He watches to many cowboy movies, I thought. "Well the good guys always have something the bad guys want...and we should tell them about the Lord." Richard, as if he talks to bad guys everyday says. "But they won't listen!" That is about where it ended and he got distracted with other things. He shocks me every day how he is growing up! He is also very smart and sweet! He always is coming up to the house and telling me "G.G. I love you!" So Sweet!

Good evening, Gracie! =) Thank you for the welcome! My trip went very well, and without any problems. It is hard to believe that I've been home a week tonight though. Neat, I'm the first person (other than yourself) to leave a message on your chatboard- it is a cool feature. :D
